Letter of the Week

Jimmy, the boys and I function so much better with our routine. The holidays were fun but totally got us off track. I'm struggling to figure out if Jordan is ready for one nap instead of two and what time he actually will nap so that we get more than an hour in the morning and afternoon and then a baby who is fighting to stay awake at dinner time. Landon is back to school tomorrow which should help our routine. I'm adding a task to our routine and starting tomorrow... Letter of the week for Landon. I'm excited about this but hoping that it goes smoothly and that I can figure out some cool activities to make learning his letters fun. Landon has been able to identify his letters for quite some time. The summer after he turned 2, he came to me with the first 3 letters of the alphabet and proudly identified each of them. I wasn't ready him to identify letters yet. He was just a baby! Anyway, Jimmy and I decided that we should incorporate some structured time in which to work on identifying his letters (easy, because he does this) and to involve writing the letter. Thanks goodness for Pinterest! I'm prepared with a coloring page, tracing sheet and App for the next day or two. I also have plans to trace the letters A in sand and rice and one day this week we will glue beads or some other pieces on a card in the shape of the letter A. My intentions are good! What complicates things a bit this week is an almost 1 year old who woke up from his nap sneezing and with a stuffy/runny nose. Poor baby has some bright red cheeks and watery eyes to match. Hopefully it's short lived! I will post some pictures of my smart boy, my sick boy and my attempts at early childhood education. Lauren
